The Russo Brothers' spy universe, Citadel, is expanding with an exciting new Italian spinoff. When Citadel, starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra, premiered on Prime Video, there were high expectations for its success. With a substantial budget and direction under The Russo Brothers, plans were made for multiple spinoffs and side projects to build an extensive universe. Despite these high hopes, the series received a lukewarm reception from critics and fans, leading many to wonder about the future of Citadel.

The latest development in the Citadel universe is the introduction of an Italian spinoff titled Citadel: Diana. This new chapter takes place around eight years following the events of the original series, during a period when the Citadel faction has fallen. The plot centers around Milan in the year 2030. The global spy agency Citadel was obliterated by a formidable enemy syndicate known as Manticore. Diana Cavalieri, portrayed by Matilda De Angelis, finds herself isolated behind enemy lines, working undercover as a mole within Manticore. She yearns for escape and eventually spots an opportunity to vanish from the fray. To do so, however, she must place her trust in an unexpected ally, Edo Zani, played by Lorenzo Cervasio, who is the heir to Manticore Italy and the son of its leader, Ettore Zani, portrayed by Maurizio Lombardi. Edo is embroiled in a power struggle for leadership against the other European families.

Citadel: Diana is backed by the executive production of The Russo Brothers and is brought to life under the direction of Arnaldo Catinari, with Alessandro Fabbri handling the writing. Viewers can look forward to its premiere on Prime Video on October 10.
