Microsoft has made an exciting announcement for gaming enthusiasts with the official reveal of a new special edition Xbox Wireless Controller known as Sky Cipher. This unique translucent blue controller is now available for pre-order, offering gamers a fresh and visually striking option.

Revealed through a recent post on Xbox Wire, the Sky Cipher Xbox Wireless Controller sports a captivating translucent blue shell that allows a view of its internal components. The rest of the controller, from its buttons to its grips and analog sticks, also features various tones of blue, creating a cohesive and stylish appearance.

Customers can pre-order this eye-catching controller for $69.99 / £64.99. It's available at the Xbox online store and other participating retailers. However, the exact release date has not yet been disclosed.

The unveiling of the Sky Cipher Xbox Wireless Controller aligns with earlier information from French outlet Dealabs, which had predicted the gamepad’s translucent design, comparable to the design of the Forza Horizon 5 edition controller from a few years ago. Dealabs had hinted at an August 13 launch date, suggesting those who pre-order might only have a short wait ahead.

In addition to its distinctive design, the Sky Cipher Xbox Wireless Controller will introduce updated packaging for Xbox controllers. This new packaging underscores Xbox's commitment to environmental sustainability, eliminating single-use plastics and replacing paper manuals with a QR code for a digital guide. Moreover, the packaging has been reduced by 22% in size and 21% in weight, contributing to a smaller carbon footprint.
